Fan appreciation night brought the fans out in full force…..the kids were treated to filled goodie bags compliments of the drivers, and their crews.
In the 270 Micro division there was a hard four car wreck coming out of turn two in the very first lap. The fourteen lap main feature finished clean with four lead changes. Robert DeRochey got the last lead and finished just ahead of Scotty Soder.
The BST 305 Sprint Cars raced (and wrecked) in Kansas thinning out the field to four cars for the trip to I-76 Speedway. Nic Sutton #15, finished first with Nick Haygood #1, close behind.
Jeff Meeker in the #5 BST Late Model challenged the 88C driven by Corey Cox for most of the race. But when the checkers flew the #222 David Wheeler slipped by to finish second just ahead of Cox.
Modified #6K Brad Kemble, was relentless in pursuing the #59 Geoff McNally for thirteen laps. In the 14th lap, Kemble took over coming of turn three and led the remainder of the race to the checkered flag. Angie Hayes #50, finished in third place.
Sport mod #11 Becky Dechant gets her first win in 8-/1/2 years after a crazy race riddled with tangles and yellow flags. Trevor Geist #10 ran wheel to wheel with Becky for 8 laps before she took the lead and the checkers. Steven Lewis #74 finished in the three spot.
The Econo main feature saw one spin out then it was smooth sailing to the checkered flag with the #7 Todd Brotemarkle staying in the lead. Hot in pursuit were the #14 Ryan Stewart, 85 Rick Pennetta, and #77 Mitch Boesel.
The Hornet field is gaining cars to add to the excitement of the young drivers. This week’s winner Cameron Ratcliff #51, finished just ahead the 40 Driven by Travis Brandt. John Symmes, #22 finished third.
Our next race will be held on August 2nd when the BST Late Models roll into town again. Also racing on the 2nd will be the Modifieds, Sport Mods, Econos, 270 Micros and the Hornets.
