FIREWORKS GO OFF AT I-76 SPEEDWAY

By: Geoff Briggs

After a great night of close racing and photo finishes, the I-76 Speedway shot an incredible fireworks show thanks to the Fort Morgan Fire Department.

Bill Lundock charged to the front of the IMCA Modified main event and left the other cars chasing him most of the race. Eddie Belec and Dominic Ursetta made their way through the pack to challenge Lundock for the lead. Lundock led at the white flag, but Belec charged at him and when they crossed the line, it was too close to call. Track Officials then decided to do a 3-lap shootout between Belec and Lundock to determine the winner. Belec beat out Lundock for the win in the shootout. Ursetta took home third over Brett Smith and Brad Shelton.

Bob Goestchel and Brandon Williams took off in the Sport Mod main event while Danny Concelman was stuck near the rear of the field. Concelman worked his way up to the front, but wasn’t able to get around Goetchel as Goetchel took his second win in a row at I-76 Speedway. Concelman was second over Williams, Rick Cuckow and Becky Dechant.

Ken Robbins led the Econo Stock main event until lapped traffic decided the outcome and Jeff Richey took the lead and the win. Robbins settled for second over Steve Irsik, Todd Brotemarkle and Brian Galvin.

Jesse Taylor remained undefeated at I-76 Speedway in 2010 as he scored another win in the Street Stocks ahead of Ted Nauta, and Robert Sator.

John Symmes had his hands full in the hornet feature with Larry Smith, Mitch Bolton and Angelo Romero. Symmes took the close win over Smith, Bolton, Romero, and Bill McDougal.

The Dwarf Cars had Andy Rogers taking another feature win as he held off Alex Amen, Joe Davis, Larry Stone and Walker Hornby.
